Board of Directors Meeting:  Wednesday, May 8th, 2019

 

  • Call to Order May 8, 2019 6:03PM
  • Bryan, Brian, Vincent, Karin, Annie, Linda, Tracey, John (arrived at 6:59)
  • Additions to or Deletions from The Agenda
    • Annie – MOU
    • Vincent – recently employed by the Town of Wellington.  Position to officially begin Monday May 13, 2018.  He will investigate his eligibility to remain on the Board of the WCMSP and what conflicts of interest may exist.
  • Conflicts of interest  – none identified
  • Consent Agenda (seeking motion to approve)
    • Approval of Minutes from last meeting (April, 2019) (pending)
    • Financial Report – April reports (attached)
    • Committee reports and Director’s report (see attached)
    • Bryan made the motion to approve the Consent Agenda
      • seconded by Vincent
      • Motion passed unanimously.
  • Staffing: (5 minutes)
    • Part time help open position update
      • Annie has interviewed two qualified candidates.  She has selected Kallie Cooper who will start Monday May 13.  She will be employed 10 hours per week at $15 per hour.
  • By Laws (10 minutes)
    • By Laws Up Date (seeking motion to approve changes)
      • Tracey made the motion to approve the By Laws revisions; seconded by Vincent.  Motion passed unanimously.
  • Planter Program Update
    • WCMSP received a mini-grant for $5000.  Total for the additional 12 (doubling our capacity) planters is just over $5000.  The mini-grant mandates we match 25% which is $1250.  Total cost will cover most of the expense however we have learned specific, and slightly expensive soil, will be necessary for the planters.  We anticipate this cost to be ~$1000.  The additional cost will be covered by the monies received by the Brewfest.  Brian is donating a U-Haul to pick up the plants.  Annie will send an email to our membership for help loading and unloading the plants, which is scheduled for this Saturday.
  • Mural update and .5k donation
    • New mural is underway on the train depot
  • Market Leakage Analysis May 13th at 7:00pm Leeper center
    • Ed cautioned too much advertising for alerting our competing communities to our opportunities.
  • Volunteers for the 4th of July float?
    • Rick Freeman, Wendell Nelson, Curtis Bridges, and Rich Cruz are the spearheads.  CAC approved the theme to be our agriculture heritage
  • Combined membership update (Tracey)
    • Presented multiple options and decided we would like $50 to the Chamber and $75 to WCMSP to offset insurance and management fees.
  • Main Street Office will be closed noon Wednesday May 22nd-May 29th, but will be in the office May 30th-June 1st.
  • Other (5 minutes each)
    • MOU with the Town and Chamber.  Linda moved to accept the MOU with the Town and Chamber.  Vincent 2nd.  Unanimous approval.
  • Adjourn
    • Tracey made a motion to adjourn at 7:23
  • The board may call an executive session if needed to discuss personnel or other private matters.
